Justin Burgess delivers his groovy rock and roll gumbo with soul, wit, and undeniable passion.

A Canadian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Burgess presents his own brand of socially conscious rock and roll through driving tunes and a voice that surprises – and delivers. From sensual growls to soaring falsetto, think unholy lovechild of Bono, Bon Scott, and Jeff Buckley, with Leonard Cohen's brain. (The tests were inconclusive).

Burgess has performed since the age of 7. He has appeared on stage internationally, with an eclectic jumble of acts including Uncle Wiggly, Bill Durst, Richard Knecktel, Thundermug, Cheryl Lescom, Dinah Christie, Sab, Popjoy, and Big On Venus.

Burgess’ mission is to transport the listener through highly charged performances. A consummate storyteller, he brings a rich literary, performance, and film background to his storytelling ethos. He’s a man with a message, speaking through vividly drawn characters shaped by darkness and light, who tackle subjects from religion to politics; isolation to sexuality; personal relationships to social injustice.

His latest release, Heads Will Bang (2016), bears the Burgess stamp on every aspect of its creation. Drawing on his lengthy and diverse career as sideman, singer-songwriter, producer, frontman, and performer, Burgess once again delivers his soul-shaking original music in a work both diverse and danceable.
